Dominykas Story 🕊️

Dominic was born prematurely at 32 weeks, 1,909 kg. Maternal pregnancy was smooth and the exact cause of preterm birth was not identified. The boy was born in Kaunas clinics and was rated 9/9 on the Apgar scale, but shortly after the birth, respiratory failure began. moms. A total of 30 days in the hospital. In the first year after the hospital, the doors of various specialists were opened and, unfortunately, the cause of the child's delayed physical development was considered premature, but the eyes of professional physiotherapists noticed that the boy needed a more detailed examination. Cerebral palsy spastic diplegia:Then began the search for various sanatoriums, therapies and non-traditional medicine specialists, parents were very much looking forward to a miracle, looking for a "cure" for this incurable disorder. He used early and complex rehabilitation services, went to sanatoriums, was once in the Slovakia ADELI center, visited a private osteopath from Israel, went to herbalists, psychics and all sorts of other specialists, but all this was only good for stability and hope. Currently, Dominic attends horse therapy once a week, sports at home with a physiotherapist three times a week, visits the pool before quarantine, and has participated in dolphin therapy several times.

But this story is not about sadness, because anyone who knows Dominic's family knows that they do not lack positivity and optimism and love for life.

This is a story about hope and the fulfillment of Dominic's family dream - Dominic's independence and, most importantly, a life without pain

Requires SDR surgery and at least a year of intensive rehabilitation after it.

SDR is a selective dorsal rhizotomy in which the roots of the L2 – S1 segments of the spinal cord are incised. Not only does the course of the operation sound serious, but there are even fewer professionals who perform this procedure, and even fewer who have many years of experience. Fortunately, in America, St. Dr. Louis Children's Hospital Physician Dr. TS Park has 32 years of experience and thousands of success stories shared by children’s parents on the Facebook community. To our even greater surprise, we already have three children in our country who are committed to this operation; by the way, the first Lithuanian who has paved the way for Dominikas' family to America has been living a fully independent life without pain and spasticity for more than a year.

Now Dominykas is playing sports so as not to get worse in small steps, the leader is moving forward with his high motivation, and after the operation, Dominykas will be able to really relax for the first time and learn to walk with his new, light legs.

75000 EUR is how much we need to fulfill Dominykas dream, which includes surgery, three-week rehabilitation. Louis Hospital, postoperative care, post-operative equipment (special footwear, splints), plane tickets, accommodation, and years of intensive physiotherapy. A cosmic sum of € 75,000, but those who know Dominic will not doubt that this child's dream is worth every euro.

It's like being reborn for the second time with a new person, well at least with new legs and an even wider smile 🙏🏻
